New this Fall:
VOICE CLASSES FOR TEENS WITH HOLLY BOAZ!
I will be offering an 8-week session of singing classes for teens this Fall; one class for High School Teens (grades 9-12) and one class for Middle School Tweens/Teens (grades 6-8, and I will consider experienced 5th graders). If you are interested, or if you know others who might be, please let me know and feel free to pass on this information!
For current students: please note that I will offer the classes at half price for any students who are concurrently taking private lessons with me.
These classes will include vocal technique, music theory, group singing in several styles of music, harmonizing, and performance coaching. I will provide music, handouts, and audio files. We will listen to famous singers and develop a vocabulary to describe what we hear. We will sing together and for each other. We will explore many styles: folk, pop, Broadway, classical, etc. And we will learn how to use the voice efficiently and healthily. There will be a performance opportunity and a field trip as well!
Voice classes for teens will begin on Tuesday, September 26. Classes will run as an 8-week session, culminating in a performance.
Students in Grades 6-8: Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30
Sept 26-Nov 14. $175 for the entire session (including materials!) Half price for students taking private lessons.
Teens coming from McMurray Middle School can take bus 6 to the Burton Fire Station, and from there it is a 10-15 minute walk to my studio. Those coming from the Harbor School, perhaps a carpool situation can be arranged. I will help with this if I can. This class will not conflict with the after school choir club at McMurray as the choir club will not reconvene until February. More on that soon!
Students in Grades 9-12: Tuesdays 4:45-6:15.
$200 for the 8-week session (including materials). Half price for students taking private lessons concurrently.
All students taking voice class: we will have a performance opportunity in November and a field trip to be announced!
